Asus reveals thinner, lighter PadFone 2 with quad-core chip

It hasn’t been all that long since Asus started shipping the original PadFone, but the company clearly wasn’t satisfied with its first effort. Today, Asus unveiled the PadFone 2 just six months after its progenitor went on sale in Taiwan.

Thanks to all the leaks that cropped up in the days leading up to the launch, we already had a pretty good picture of what the PadFone 2 was bringing to the tablet. The processor has indeed been bumped to a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro clocked at 1.5GHz, which sits alongside 2GB of RAM and 16, 32, or 64GB of internal storage. An Adreno 320 GPU provides the graphical muscle, and it’s shooting visuals to an expansive 4.7-inch Super IPS
